Florida Mediator to Speak for Popular FJA Workhorse Seminar

Robert A. (Bob) Cole, mediator and shareholder with Upchurch Watson White & Max, will present a half-hour program on the importance of reserves to plaintiffs' attorneys in settling their clients' cases for full value at mediation on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

"A mediator's goal is always to do everything he or she can to assist parties in getting their disputes resolved on their terms," Bob Cole says. "Hopefully, this presentation will help the attendees make their mediations more meaningful and productive."
Mr. Cole begins speaking at 6:45 p.m. for the FJA Settlement & Mediation Institute, part of the Florida Justice Association Workhorse Seminar, at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Lake Buena Vista. The seminar is for members of FJA only, and, as of Feb. 13, 125 attorneys from all over the state had registered to attend the four-day conference.

His talk is titled "Reserves -- Reserves -- Reserves" and subtitled "Understanding Why One of the Plaintiff Lawyers' Major Blunders Is in the Failure to Know, Understand, and Appreciate Reserves (as well as Understanding Early Strategies to Increase Reserves."

Overall, the four-day seminar covers subjects such as running and managing personal injury law firms, the psychology and sociology of advocacy, product liability litigation and trials, and technology (social networking and the Internet in discovery, trial and jury selection). Organizers anticipate that attendence at all of the sessions will be worth 55.0 hours general, 5.0 hours ethics, and 55.0 hours civil trial certification credits for continuing legal education from The Florida Bar.
