Florida Mediator Robert A. Cole Had A Busy Month

Robert A. Cole, a shareholder with Upchurch Watson White & Max who is based in Jacksonville -- but who travels all over Florida to mediate -- made a few personal appearances that were not mediations over the last several weeks.

First, Bob participated in a panel with two circuit judges and two other mediators discussing trial issues unique to construction law cases. The Jacksonville Bar Association Construction Law Committee presented the discussion at the end of May.

Then, Bob presented a 50-minute session labeled “Circuit Civil Ethical Considerations”on June 5 for The Jacksonville Bar Association’s ADR Practitioners Committee. His presentation, titled “The Right Way to Do the Right Thing,” featured a series of hypothetical ethical dilemmas arising during the mediation of a “typical” personal injury case. He joined six other speakers at Florida Coastal School of Law in presenting opportunities for mediators to earn up to 8.0 CME hours.

On June 19, Bob and fellow Upchurch Watson White & Max shareholder A. Michelle Jernigan gave an independent seminar at Jacksonville's EverBank Center, site of UWWM's Jacksonville office. In their presentation, "Mediation Advocacy:  Effective Legal Representation in Mediation" they shared their experience and unique perspectives with local litigators.
