FALL SEMINARS / SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS


Gerald LeVan, chair of the Upchurch Watson White & Max Family Business & Wealth Mediation practice group presented “Early Resolution of Family Disputes about Money, Business or Inheritance” as part of ALI-ABA’s continuing education webcast program on October 11.
 
On Monday, November 7th Gerry will be presenting this same program in a live seminar / luncheon being held at the Upchurch Watson White & Max Maitland office. Joining him in this presentation will be speakers from Wells Fargo Private Bank; Susan Rounds, J.D., CPA, Senior Director of Planning, Wells Fargo Business Advisory Services and  David J. Stella, CFP, CIMA, Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo Private Bank-Central FL . Susan and David will cover the topic “Strategic Positioning for Family Business and Wealth.” The seminar has been approved for 2.5 FL Bar CLE hours, including .5 Ethics.

Mediation counsel Sandy Upchurch will present “Mediation Advocacy: Preparing Your Team for Mediation” to members of the Orange County Bar Association Paralegal Section on November 4th. Sandy has geared her material to be an entertaining & informative primer for the industrious paralegal regarding best practice in preparing for mediation. The program is approved for 1.5 FL Bar CLE hours.



Firm principal, Rodney A. Max, is traveling to Napa, CA on Thursday, November 3rd  to present “Secrets from the Defendants’ Mediation Room” -  part of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group, Inc.’s (AIEG) Auto Focus 2011 seminar.


On November 17th , principal Michael S. Orfinger and mediation panelist Gary F. Canner will address attendees of University of Florida’s Levin College of Law, Institute for Dispute Resolution seminar event “Expanding the Horizons of Mediation”. Mr. Orfinger’s presentation title is “The Ethical Negotiator’s Guide to Navigating Rough Seas” and Mr. Canner will present  “Are You Talkin’ To Me?” Other speakers include Dr. Paul T.
