Chief Execs Eye Mediation

 

     Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group has been invited by TEC (The Executive Committee), an organization of chief executive officers) to host a two day presentation on mediation and arbitration for their Volusia/Flagler Chapter. TECs mission is to unite local CEOs by informing them how to succeed in business and stimulate outstanding performance.  The meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on April 12 at the Easter Seals Center and April 13 at the Halifax Yacht Club, each in Daytona Beach .

              

     Circuit Court mediators A. Michelle Jernigan and Michael S. Orfinger will discuss how to cut legal costs and reduce delay through use of mediation and arbitration clauses in contracts.  Also on the agenda are employment dispute resolution and the effective selection and use of mediators and arbitrators.

 

     Orfinger, a shareholder and principal with the firm, is an experienced trial attorney, mediator and arbitrator.  He has spoken at continuing legal education seminars, and has been a contributing author to various continuing legal education publications of The Florida Bar.

 

      Jernigan, a shareholder and panel member with the firm since 1992, is a frequent lecturer in the area of alternative dispute resolution throughout the state of Florida .  She is a founding member, director and past president of the Florida Association of Professional Mediators; the first statewide, not-for-profit association of its kind.
