There is a historical relationship between the legal community and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their legacy was acknowledged and praised at a recent meeting of The D.W. Perkins Bar Association. Grant monies help, but the need continues to grow. UWWM has always advocated community service and involvement. Attorney Robert Cole, who is a member of the board of directors of BBBS of Northeast Florida and a former Big Brother, said "When it comes to community service, my focus has always been children and education. For Big Brothers Big Sisters, our biggest need is African-American males. We just don’t have enough volunteers to match up with the kids who want to be in the program.”
