Florida Governor
Rick Scott has issued a
proclamation declaring October 14-20 as “Mediation Week” in the State of Florida. The mediation process allows all parties involved in a dispute to develop a mutual agreement that satisfies their individual needs. “Since first adopting rules of procedure and certification requirements in 1987, Florida has been a leader in the mediation of judicial disputes,” said
Michael Orfinger, a principal shareholder with
Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group. “The Governor’s recognition of Mediation Week only serves to ratify the importance of mediation as a process for achieving justice and resolving disputes.”
