Subject: 2023 Turkey-Give-Away, Inc.
Dear family and friends:
I come to ask you again to support me in a passion to feed the hungry.
Over the past 14 years, my friends, along with lawyers and many law firms, have donated time and money to help provide turkeys and fixings to loving families who need our help, and I want to say thank you. As many of you know, I have asked for donations to help this cause for years. This year is no exception. My friends and former law partners, along with a very dedicated group of civic-minded friends, have personally delivered a full Thanksgiving dinner to families located in a community comprised of some of the county's most needy families.
This project began 14 years ago by feeding 75 families and has grown so much that we delivered Thanksgiving dinner to almost 800 families last year.
This is the best day of our year. Last year we fed 2,400 people. This year we have grown to 850 turkeys and feeding more than 3,000 people.
The delivery includes a 10-12 lb. turkey along with all the fixings to make a complete family dinner for 4. Due to continued rising costs, we are again reaching out to our friends and asking for a small contribution. Would you please take part in this very worthwhile event by contributing $500 (any amount will be accepted)? These monies will go to offset a budget that has grown to over $15,000.
Rest assured that every penny will be put toward the food. We personally pick up the turkeys and load them into trucks early in the a.m. on the day of delivery. If you want to spend a half-day with us personally walking door to door to hand out the packages of food, please come. It will be one of the best 4 hours of your year.
We have set up a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit “TURKEY GIVE AWAY, INC.,” so, as we grow hopefully the support from our friends can grow.

When: NEW DATE ... Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, 12 noon
What: To have a light lunch (hot dogs/burgers and soft drinks) and meet up with the great people who will feed 500 families. This year, while we wait for the turkeys to arrive, we will be having a soccer and/or football game for the families and any neighborhood kids who want to play. Bring your families and friends.
THEN, AROUND 1PM: Walk house-to-house and deliver of all the dinners to the people in the community.
